A Pocatello man has been sentenced to more than 44 years in prison for producing child pornography.

31-year-old hector Aguayo will spend the next 530 months in federal prison followed by 15 years of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender, but that won't be until after he turns 75-years-old.

A concerned citizen reported Aguayo to police for having child pornography on his iPad. A police investigation uncovered 550 images and 198 videos of child pornography. Law enforcement discovered that Aguayo had produced the child pornography with a prepubescent handicapped child, later distributing the videos on an internet messaging application according to the Department of Justice.

“This sentence shows our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society, our children,” said U.S. Attorney Hurwit. “Disabled children especially need our protection, and I am proud of our law enforcement partners whose tireless efforts led to a successful prosecution.”
